While Stivi was in a small cage near a restaurant, he suffered an eye injury in a fight with another bear. Therefore, poor Stivi is almost blind. In captivity, he obtained infections from his untreated wounds. To make matters worse, his diet was severely lacking in nutrition and his day-to-day life was filled with stress. 

Stivi has transformed since arriving at the sanctuary. While before, he was very fearful and nervous, today he is totally relaxed and happy bear. In our sanctuary, Stivi receives all the medical care he needs to recover and stay as healthy as possible.
